Overview
With social distancing at the top of the agenda and governments pleading citizens to stay inside their homes for the protection of others and themselves, the world has noticeably slowed down and almost come to a complete standstill. Big cities that had been overrun by people and clogged with traffic now resemble real ghost towns as traffic lights change from red to green without anybody crossing the streets and abandoned newspapers are borne through the alleyways by gusts of wind as if they were tumbleweeds rolling through an old wild Western scenery at high noon.
But instead of diving deeper into this apocalyptic feeling of seclusion and perdition, let’s take a look at the bright side of the medallion: Now we finally have the time we always needed to do the things we always wanted without the constant fear of missing out on anything! Plus, for nature this is the moment it has long been yearning for. With restricted traffic of all kinds (air, water and land), skies are beginning to clear up again, silence in the forests is no longer disrupted by engines revving up in the distance, seas and rivers are starting to be recolonized by various water creatures that used to be living there — long story short, for nature this is a sigh of relief.
