Just because most of us are stuck at home like a hermit crab in its scavenged mollusc shell doesn’t mean business has to stop. If you are one of those people who have always made it a point to keep digital technologies at a distance and preferred meeting friends in person over talking to them on the phone, well now might be the time to concede that not all bad came from digital transformation — provided the emerging technologies are being used appropriately and responsibly for the well-being of all living things.
Lately, however, having long talks on the phone with friends and family all of a sudden became a thing again. Sure, it never was on the verge of fading away but now that these times of crisis require us to keep our distance physically, it becomes apparent how much of our modern lives we’ve been taking for granted.

A rush, a glance, a touch, a dance — to look in somebody’s eyes, light up the skies, open the world and send them reeling. A voice that says, „I’ll be here and you’ll be alright.“* It’s the little things that turn this social distancing into such a torture for many of us. But it doesn’t have to be that way. Instead it could be much more relieving and motivating to simply regard it as a wake-up call from nature that decided to give us a time-out to reflect on how we got here, offering us the chance to draw lessons from our current situation and make the best out of it for now and the time to come.

So let’s stick together like birds of a feather and stand through these challenging times as a community. Because as a community we can move mountains and achieve things we could only dream of as individuals.
