Mother’s Day is coming up this weekend for us and many other countries in the world. Some already celebrated it earlier this year, and others are still waiting in anticipation of this day of glory. Whatever the date, the meaning of this day is the same for everyone which is to celebrate the mother of the family, as well as motherhood, maternal bonds, and the influence of mothers in society. Not all of us are mothers (partly due to biologically predefined incapabilities), but we all have one and every single one of us has their own idea of what they are grateful for and how they would like to express it.

During these pandemic-stricken times the role of the mother has regained a great deal of importance in view of the majority of social interactions being abruptly confined to the homes. Managing home office, home schooling, childcare, household affairs and many other daily routines under one roof has become a 24/7 job no one had ever dared to imagine to this extent before 2020. But mothers all over the world “womanned” up and confronted the task laying all their power and strength into keeping their world and that of their loved ones from falling apart.
